Refugees in Saxony - facts, life paths, controversies
Book presentation and panel discussion with the publisher Olaf Kittel
What does it mean to arrive in Saxony as a refugee? What expectations and hopes do people bring with them? What problems do they face? The book takes a look at the individual realities of the lives of people who have fled and lets refugees tell their stories. But it also brings together viewpoints from politics, business and society and sheds light on structural problems and overarching contexts.

Egon Börner: "In the sights of the Counts of Mansfeld"

In the early summer of 1518, two young people profess their love for each other regardless of their class. While Jobst von Mansfeld, a friend and ardent admirer of Martin Luther, joins the Reformation movement and, as a plenipotentiary of the Saxon electors, is drawn into a maelstrom of intrigue. While Jobst is caught up in a maelstrom of intrigue and power struggles, Liesel has to seek refuge in Nimbschen Abbey to escape Count Hoyer's pursuit and desire for revenge. Will love be able to withstand the separation and survive in a world of superstition, natural disasters, terrible diseases and bloody wars?

Erwin Strittmatter, creator of unforgettable characters such as Ole Bienkopp, Stanislaus Büdner and Esau Matt - a conversation with Dr Knut Strittmatter and the "Literary Cloverleaf" group of authors
Strittmatter's novels moved readers in the GDR and stimulated debate. His fans seem to be infected by an incurable virus. People have him and will never get rid of him. For the members of the Literary Cloverleaf, Jana Heidler and Carsten Krankemann, Erwin Strittmatter was one of the best-known writers of their childhood. This seems plausible to those who grew up in Chemnitz. But how did he manage to win the heart of Christiane Winkler from Essen? For their own view of the author of "Ole Bienkopp" and "Der Laden", the trio invited Dr Knut Strittmatter, son from his first marriage, into the conversation. Incidentally, the latter can say of himself: I still rode Pedro the pony.
