We present multiplayer games mainly with a co-operative character from the genres of action RPG, beat'em up, shooter and retro games and invite you to play along. PS5, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch and Steam Deck as well as our VR glasses Meta Quest will be used.

Poetry meets accordion - longing for home
Venue: TIETZ event hall
Attendance: admission 10 euros, reduced 8 euros
The Chemnitz-born author Karin Oeser will read from her new volume of poetry "Tage wie Sand". She will be accompanied on the accordion by Ukrainian musician Roman Yusipey, a graduate of the Folkwang Academy of Music.
Karin Oeser's poems are straightforward, with clear words. Rooted in the everyday, they get under the skin and stir up emotions. This is precisely where Roman Yusipey's masterfully interpreted music on the accordion meets Karin Oeser's poetry.
When compositions by Gershwin, Vivaldi, Piazzolla or Tchaikovsky are played, the sounds carry on the thoughts of the poems.

Out and about together - story festival for children, a Chemnitz 2025 project

Wintertime - time to plan great journeys! And, as we all know, the best journeys take place in the imagination. Today, the city library will be transformed into a large travel agency of the imagination for one day.

An author and an illustrator will be presenting their books about travelling: It's off on a wild bike ride with a dinosaur and on a fire brigade adventure, into the spooky Bammelwald forest and back into the past. Each reading is followed by a workshop that invites the children to think up their own travel story and put it down on paper with words and/or pictures.
The following journeys can be undertaken:
10 to 11.30 a.m., "Ring-ring!" with Halina Kirschner
The illustrator Halina Kirschner will give a reading of the book "Wilde Radtour mit Velociraptorin". (The text is by Nils Mohl.) A feathered prehistoric reptile wants to learn how to ride a bike and embarks on a fast-paced adventure through the ABC of cycling from A for "inflate" to Z for "destination". In the subsequent workshop with the illustrator, the children go on their own drawn bike tour with very unusual means of transport and riders. For all bike and dinosaur fans aged 8 and over.
4 to 5.30 pm, "Like a bird" with Gerda Raidt
Gerda Raidt's autobiographical book "Like a bird" is a journey back in time in words and pictures to a childhood in the GDR, when only birds could fly across the border just like that. Interested children aged 8 to 12, with or without company, are invited to travel back in time to the author's childhood in East Berlin. After the reading, there will be a short workshop with tips and suggestions for writing your own stories. When the author then sets off on her return journey, she will be left with a collection of ideas. Perhaps the beginning of a story. And a few more days of holiday.
The story festival was initiated by KJL Leipzig - The Network of Leipzig Children's and Young Adult Book Authors and Illustrators and organised in cooperation with Chemnitz City Library.
