"With my project "Eavesdropping. Mobile Soundstories", I would like to encourage the urban community of Chemnitz to tell their own - real or invented - stories that relate to an "object", be it a neighbouring city, a building or a place in Chemnitz. The "storytelling" can take a wide variety of forms - singing, dancing, writing, designing, remaining silent, photographing, composing." Arna Aley

Winter-Christmas-Wonderful - members of FDA Sachsen read from their Christmas anthology for children and adults

Venue: TIETZ, Stefan-Heym-Forum
Admission: free of charge

The Advent and Christmas season has many facets. We experience them in a contemplative or hectic, realistic or fairytale-like way. Are you enchanted by the most beautiful time of year? Or are you caught up in the stress of preparations?
The authors of FDA Sachsen have gone on a journey of discovery with open eyes and ears and write about Christmas at home and far away, about shopping hassles, a children's Christmas party in prison, going to concerts and watching TV. It's even said that Father Christmas might drop by the Bundestag and that magical things happen at the job centre!
It is also about climate change and about freezing cold or warm winter and New Year's Eve nights. There are cheerful and thought-provoking stories and poems for adults and children alike.
Winter-Christmas-Wonderful: Let yourself be surprised!

Saturday, 10 December, 3:30 pm
All in the family: Pettersson and Findus - There'll be something for Findus tomorrow

Venue: TIETZ, event hall
Admission: Adults 6 euros, children 3 euros, registration requested: information(at)stadtbibliothekchemnitz.de or phone: 0371 488 4366

You should never promise too much. Ever since old Pettersson told his cat about Father Christmas, Findus has only had one wish: that Father Christmas would come to him too. Of course Pettersson doesn't want to disappoint him!
The carpenter's shed is a hive of activity over the next few days. There is drawing and sawing, hammering and drilling. The fact that everything turns out quite differently than Pettersson had planned can only be due to the fact that sometimes things happen that simply cannot be explained...
