"Dehumanised - Why we need to abolish prostitution"

Reading and discussion with Huschke Mau

At the age of 17, Huschke Mau escapes from her violent parental home and doesn't know what to do next. Penniless and without support, she slips into prostitution and with it an addiction to alcohol and drugs. Her first pimp: a policeman. Ten years pass before she is able to free herself from this vicious circle. Huschke Mau now has a degree, a doctorate and is calling for society to end prostitution.
Her thesis: prostitution always involves sexual violence. Women in prostitution usually have no choice because they find themselves in situations of dependency or need. Clients, on the other hand, do. Nobody forces them to buy women. It is not the women who should be criminalised or shamed, but the men.

Huschke Mau describes the system of prostitution: how women get into it, why it is so difficult to get out again, what traumas they experience there and what is problematic about our society's and media's view of prostitution.

Lilly Ulm-Lindstedt - an artist from Chemnitz

Venue: TIETZ, Stefan-Heym-Forum

Lilly Ulm was born in Chemnitz in 1935. At a young age, she was a ballet student at the Chemnitz Opera House. Her father was an artist and trained her to perform with him in his art, which Lilly also loved. They toured Western Europe for ten years with their own work "Kautschuk auf Spitze". Highlights included engagements at the "Moulin Rouge" in Paris, Rome, Sicily, St Tropez and Cannes. She was married to Hans-Dietrich Lindstedt in 1986 and lived in Chemnitz again. She developed a new talent and began to write stories and poems. The most beautiful are published in the poetry collection "Einmal ein Tropfen sein".

Almut Fehrmann and Volkmar Schindler will show a short film about Lilly Ulm as an artist and present her biography and some of her poems.

"Right at the top - a late triumph on Mount Everest"

Lecture with extreme mountaineer and globetrotter Jörg Stingl

Jörg Stingl has been travelling to the highest mountains in the world for many years. His numerous expeditions have taken him around the globe. Stingl has also reached the summit of the highest mountain on earth, the 8848 metre high Mount Everest, without artificial oxygen.

In this exciting lecture, Stingl reports on his experiences during successful expeditions and takes visitors on a journey to the most famous eight-thousanders in the Himalayas.

We present multiplayer games mainly with a co-operative character from the genres of action RPG, beat'em up, shooter and retro games and invite you to play along. PlayStation4, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch and Steam Deck as well as our VR glasses Meta Quest will be used.

Due to USK regulations, minors will not be admitted to the event.

Nothing can stop him from carrying out his plan - except perhaps little Maria. The seven-year-old has disappeared without a trace. And he was the last person to see her...

Elias Haller, born in 1977, lives in Chemnitz and has worked as a police officer for over twenty years. He draws the fuel for his gripping thrillers from his professional experience with criminals and their victims.

#Mütend: Parents, look for allies! The coronavirus pandemic has made it crystal clear: Germany may think it's a family-friendly country, but when in doubt, it only is to a limited extent. When things get serious, parents are often at a loss. And nobody really wants to take children into consideration.
What we need is a better balance, not just between work and parenting, but between family and public life in general. Children don't have a lobby in Germany, as can be seen from the importance of family policy in this country. Yet everyone could benefit from more intergenerational justice!
The journalist and blogger Nathalie Klüver, known to a large fan base as "ganznormalemama", shows what other countries have ahead of us and in which areas Germany urgently needs to catch up. A more child-friendly society would not only be more open and better for compatibility and equality, but ultimately also for more equal opportunities, climate protection and sustainability.
