City library and city archive reopen

After the corona-related closure period, the central library in the TIETZ and the city archive; Aue 16 - subject to the decision of the state of Saxony on the Corona Protection Ordinance - will reopen from Monday, 4 May. For reasons of infection protection, services will be limited in both facilities.

Mayor of Culture Ralph Burghart: "It's good to be able to reopen some of the city's important services. I hope that, if circumstances allow, we will soon be able to reopen other facilities." Burghart asked for everyone's understanding that there will be restrictions on all services in the coming weeks due to infection control measures.

Media returns and borrowing will be possible again in the Central Library from Monday. However, it will not be possible to use the library rooms as a place to stay, work or study.

No late fees will be charged until 16 May 2020.

A library card must also be carried when visiting the city library. Visits to the library must be limited to a maximum stay of 20 minutes per user.

The Central Library is open on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9 am to 7 pm and on Wednesday from 2 pm to 6 pm. It is temporarily closed on Saturdays.

The district libraries will reopen from 11 May 2020 (except the book bus).

Only a limited number of workstations are available in the city archive, therefore use and inspection of the historical archive and the building file archive are only possible after written registration (by telephone or e-mail) and confirmation of registration with appointment. Please bring your own protective gloves and face masks when using the city archives. The posted hygiene rules must be observed.
