City library: 500 years of the Reformation

Reading and media tips for the anniversary of the Reformation

On 9 February at 6 pm, Egon Börner will read from his new historical novel "Im Visier der Grafen von Mansfeld" at the TIETZ City Library. In it, the Chemnitz author describes a love story at the time of the Reformation in the Mansfeld region.

In the early summer of 1518, two young people profess their love for each other regardless of their class. Will this love be able to survive in a world of superstition, natural disasters, terrible diseases and bloody wars?

An event organised in cooperation with the Evangelisches Forum Chemnitz.
Admission costs 3 euros.

To mark the anniversary of the Reformation, the city library is presenting a large selection of historical and new media on the following topics from 9 February
to 25 April 2017
:

"Here I stand...", Martin Luther - life and work, history and sites of the Reformation, historical writings from the magazine (Station 1)

"...andwhat do you believe?", meaning, orientation and spirituality today (Station 2)

"A strong fortress...", music and the Reformation (Station 3)

The media presentation offers a good opportunity to take a comprehensive look at the topics of the Reformation, faith and religion. Most of the current books, films and CDs on display can also be borrowed.
