City election committee met for the second time
As announced yesterday, the city election committee for the local elections in Chemnitz on 25 May 2014 met again today at Chemnitz City Hall. According to information from the electoral authority, the reason for this second meeting was to make corrections to the job titles of three candidates in the eleven parties and voter associations registered for the city council elections yesterday.
The changes were necessary in order not to violate the principle of equal opportunities and were made at today's meeting following a hearing with the representative.
All nominations approved for the local elections in Chemnitz on 25 May 2014 and the corresponding candidates will be published in the official gazette of the City of Chemnitz on Wednesday, 16 April 2014 and thus officially announced.
At its meeting yesterday, the city election committee approved eleven parties and voter associations for the city council elections and 14 parties and voter associations for the local council elections in the localities of Einsiedel, Euba, Grüna, Klaffenbach, Kleinolbersdorf-Altenhain, Mittelbach, Röhrsdorf and Wittgensdorf (PM 164 from 25 March 2014).
