Highlights 2025

In addition to the 2nd rally Chemnitz and the CITY CYCLING final tour, in which around 150 Chemnitz residents and cycling enthusiasts from the Capital of Culture region took part, the city partnership with the state capital Düsseldorf was revitalised during the campaign period and in the run-up to it. For example, the CITY CYCLING blogs were shared and various delegations visited the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025.

From Chemnitz, the Lauf-KulTour e. V. association made a stop in Düsseldorf and collected kilometres as a duathlon relay - on foot and by bike - to raise awareness of Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

The Chemnitz team narrowly beat their friends from Düsseldorf in the small town-twinning competition: On average, the Chemnitz city cyclists covered 195.15 kilometres per person during the campaign period. The Düsseldorfers followed close behind with 191.91 kilometres per person.
