City Council work in 2022 in facts and figures
There are various ways for citizens of the city to get an idea of what the elected representatives are debating. In addition to being able to read the documents in the citizen information system at www.chemnitz.de, the city council meetings can also be attended live in the council chamber or followed via livestream from the comfort of your own home. Below is a brief overview of the council's work in the past year:
Ten public city council meetings were held in 2022. The total meeting time was 45 hours and 56 minutes. The shortest meeting was recorded on 14 December at 2 hours and 5 minutes. The meeting on 23 November saw the longest debate at 6 hours and 3 minutes.
In total, the plenary session for Chemnitz and the residents of Chemnitz dealt with 180 public and eight non-public draft resolutions. The committee ultimately adopted 165 public and six non-public proposals from the administration.
In addition, a total of 67 motions for resolutions from the political groups represented on the City Council were on the agenda, all of which were public. A total of 32 motions were adopted and thus issued as a mandate to the administration.
A total of 28 information proposals were on the agenda this year.
The number of City Council enquiries (including requests for information) remains high, with a total of 359.
The ten meetings broadcast live this year were watched by a total of 7,855 viewers. The recordings were subsequently watched by 14,038 viewers up to the November meeting. The meeting in June attracted 1,377 live viewers, while the recording of the meeting on 16 March was watched by 3,260 viewers at a later date.
