Longest city council meeting lasted around 7.5 hours, shortest just under 2 hours

However, most people do not realise how long such a meeting can last and how often other bodies meet to discuss municipal issues. So here is a brief overview from 2015:
Including last Wednesday's meeting, the municipal parliament held ten public and five non-public deliberations in 2015. The meeting time - public and non-public deliberations combined - totalled just under 43 hours.
The shortest deliberation was in January with just under two hours, while the longest debate was in February with around 7.5 hours. All in all, the plenary session dealt with 171 public and six non-public draft resolutions on behalf of Chemnitz and the citizens of Chemnitz. In the end, the committee adopted 143 public and four non-public administrative proposals. A total of 60 proposed resolutions (all public) were on the agenda in 2015. A total of 27 motions were adopted and thus issued to the administration.
A total of 24 information proposals were on the agenda this year. There were no urgent decisions by the Lord Mayor. The 578 enquiries submitted by the City Council still represent a significant number and therefore a considerable amount of work for the administration as the addressee of the enquiries.
