City council reorganises the use of market areas
At its meeting today, Chemnitz City Council adopted a new schedule of fees for the use of market areas, Richard-Hartmann-Platz and the technical market facilities. Among other things, thematic contexts and location designations are specified more precisely. Among other things, the amount of the fees for the rental of individual areas and of areas as a whole and the costs for the electricity and water connection were also specified.
In addition, a new point has been included stating that a fee can be waived if an event is exclusively for a charitable purpose. The breakdown of the exact composition of the fee was also specified.
The statutes of the City of Chemnitz for charging fees for the use of market areas were also approved. The user fees for weekly markets, speciality markets, annual markets and the Chemnitz Christmas market were adjusted. The reason for this is increased costs in all areas. This is the first increase in both sets of regulations for almost 17 years.
