City council elects three mayors
Sven Schulze, born in 1971, holds a degree in business administration. He completed his business studies at Chemnitz University of Technology and has been Head of Corporate Communications/Environment Management at enviaM since 2011.
From 2001 to 2010, he was a senior employee in the Corporate Development department and had previously been a team leader, including for investment management and corporate development, at envia AG Chemnitz since 1999. He began his professional career at the energy supplier Südsachsen AG Chemnitz. Sven Schulze is married, has three children and lives in Chemnitz.
Miko Runkel, born in 1960, has been head of Department 3 since 2008, having previously worked as a judge at the district court in Freiberg since 1998 and before that at Chemnitz Regional Court. Runkel, who completed his law studies in Jena with a degree in law and completed a research degree with teaching activities, has worked for the Chemnitz public prosecutor's office since 1990. In 1989, he first worked as an assistant at the public prosecutor's office in the district of Karl-Marx-Stadt/Land and then as a public prosecutor at the public prosecutor's office in the district of Hohenstein-Ernstthal.
Michael Stötzer, born in 1972, has been Head of Building Management and Structural Engineering since 2011. Prior to this, he had headed the Building Construction Office since 2009, where he had been Head of Department and Deputy Head of Office since 2007. Stötzer, who graduated with a degree in architecture, worked in various architectural firms in Chemnitz until 2007. Stötzer lives in Chemnitz with his family, which includes two children.
