City council elects new operations manager for ASR and ESC
In a closed session, the City Council today elected Dirk Behrendt as the new operations manager of the waste disposal and municipal cleaning company and the waste disposal company of the City of Chemnitz. The contract is scheduled to begin on
1 November 2016 is planned.
Dirk Behrendt, born in 1962, holds a degree in power plant engineering and has worked as a consultant and head of business development at DNV GL Energy Advisory in Dresden since 2014.
From 1981 to 2014, he held various positions at ENSO - Energie Sachsen Ost AG Dresden, most recently as a member of the Executive Board from 2004 to 2014, where he was responsible for the business areas of grid operation electricity and gas, generation, sales, occupational safety and environmental protection as well as municipal contacts. As part of the operational management in the area of water supply and wastewater disposal, he represented the operational manager vis-à-vis the special-purpose associations. His previous positions at ENSO included Head of the Energy Management Department, Head of Corporate Development and, with power of attorney, Head of the Distribution Networks Division.
Dirk Behrendt is married and has four children.
In addition to managing ASR and ESC, Dirk Behrendt was also appointed Managing Director of WeTrac GmbH. Due to the extensive structural interrelationships, this management in personal union had already proved its worth in the past.
