City council decides to renew the carriageway on the Südring

At its meeting today, the city council decided to renew the carriageway of a section of the Südring. Specifically, this is an approx. 200 metre long section that includes the Markersdorfer Straße junction.

The renovation is necessary due to rutting, patches and cracks. In addition, the existing concrete kerbs are crushed and need to be partially replaced. The road drainage systems in this area will also be renewed. The "Markersdorfer Straße" bus stop will be made barrier-free in the process. Noise-optimised asphalt surface courses will be used as the new road surface in order to minimise noise and pollutant emissions.

The calculated costs amount to around 484,000 euros. As things stand at present, construction work can begin after the Easter holidays. A construction period of six weeks is planned.
