City council decides to implement building construction measures
At its meeting yesterday, the city council approved six building construction projects for this year.
E. G. Flemming Primary School: The building in the Flemming area will undergo complex reconstruction. The refurbishment relates to the school building and the gymnasium. This includes draining the basement walls, replacing windows and doors, renovating the façade and roof structure, insulating the top storey ceiling, repairing the paintwork and installing new floor coverings, completely renovating the entire electrical installation, installing a lift and completely renewing the heating supply systems. Costs: over 4,000,000 euros.
Rosa Luxemburg Primary School: The stairwell and sanitary facilities at the school on Brühl have been renovated in recent years. This year, the remaining interior rooms of the building and the basement will follow. The heating system and the electrical installations in the rooms will also be modernised. Costs: 2,175,000 euros
J.-A.-Comenius Primary School: The renovation work involves the roof and the façade. Costs: approx. 727,000 euros
Vocational School Centre for Technology III Richard-Hartmann-Schule: The roof and façade will be renovated. Renovation work will also be carried out on the interior, such as painting and flooring work, and the sanitary facilities will be converted and modernised.
Costs: 4,000,000 euros.
Max-Müller-Str. 11 after-school care centre: The measure includes the after-school care centre part of the building and is to be renovated in terms of fire protection and energy efficiency. This includes the renovation of the façade, the construction of a second escape route, the construction of new interior walls, painting and flooring work, ensuring barrier-free access and noise protection measures in the group rooms. The construction of a children's restaurant is also planned.
Cost: 1,834,000 euros.
Gablenz indoor swimming pool: The building will undergo a general refurbishment. In addition to the renewal of the water and ventilation technology, this includes the insulation of the roof, the fire protection concept, a renewal of the glass façade and the necessary renovation of the swimming pool.
