City council decides to implement building construction measures
At its meeting today, the city council approved the construction of three building construction measures, subject to the approval of funding.
Klaffenbach moated castle: The construction project includes the refurbishment of the hotel bathrooms, including fire protection measures. Construction is to take place in two phases, from January to April 2016 and 2017 respectively, at a cost of around 870,000 euros.
Cycling track at the Sportforum: Due to weather-related damage in recent years, it is necessary to renovate the cycling track at the Sportforum. These renovations include The track wheel head must be renewed and the track surface refurbished. The existing drainage system for the track in the area of the surrounding parapet is also to be renewed as part of the renovation. Execution is planned for 2016. Construction is scheduled to start in spring 2016 and will take around 8 months. This measure is part of the action plan for the sports forum. The total costs amount to around 936,000 euros.
Daycare centre Schulstraße 35: The construction project includes the renewal of the heating, sanitary and electrical installations, accompanying interior work and fire protection measures as well as the draining of the building. Due to the scope of the construction work, the entire daycare centre will be relocated to the alternative property at A.-Neubert-Str. 22 during the construction period. Construction will begin in December of this year and end in August 2016 at a cost of around 873,000 euros.
