City council decides to implement building construction measures
A total of over 9.5 million euros invested in schools and daycare centres
At its meeting yesterday, the city council approved the construction of five building construction projects. The construction work will begin this year.
Josephinen Secondary School: The previously vacant and historic school building at Agnesstraße 11 is a listed building and will be completely renovated. This will increase the capacity of Josephinen-Oberschule. The refurbishment will cost over 4.3 million euros.
Art Collections, König-Albert-Museum: The burglar alarm system in the museum building on Theaterplatz is being adapted to the current VdS guidelines. The costs amount to around 255,000 euros.
Henriettenstraße 21 day-care centre: The building services in the day-care centre will be renewed and the fire protection measures adapted to current standards. Costs: 260,000 euros.
Evening secondary school / evening grammar school: The building at Arno-Schreiter-Straße 3 will be drained, the roof and façade will be renovated and the sanitary facilities will be remodelled and renewed. In addition, a disabled-access sanitary block will be installed. The total costs amount to 2.5 million euros.
Ernst Busch Speech Therapy School: The building of the "Ernst Busch" speech therapy school at Arno-Schreiter-Straße 1 is also being drained, the roof and façade are being renovated and the sanitary facilities are being modernised. Cost: 2.5 million euros.
