City council decides to hand over the book bus to the cultural organisation
In its meeting yesterday, the city council followed the proposal of the administration and decided to take over the mobile library of the women's association "F.A.C.T" e. V. by the cultural enterprise of the city of Chemnitz on 1 January 2016.
For many years, the women's association F.A.C.T. e. V. has provided services for citizens as part of the "Mobile Library" project with great commitment. Due to its age and the loss of funding opportunities via the second labour market, the association has asked the City of Chemnitz to reassign the tasks.
The resolution ensures that the "mobile library" service can be maintained. This service currently includes the public lending centres in Klaffenbach, Wittgensdorf, Röhrsdorf and the school library in the Pestalozzi Lernförderschule. It also includes the operation of a depot and the bus itself, which currently has 13 stops.
