City council decides to build a functional building at the Max-Saupe-Straße sports ground
At its meeting today, Chemnitz City Council approved the construction of a functional building at the Max-Saupe-Straße 70a sports ground in the Ebersdorf district. This will be equipped for the local sports club, primarily as changing facilities with washrooms, showers and toilets, as well as offices, storage and technical rooms.
The building with a floor area of 18 x 14.5 metres will be constructed from a total of 15 modules. The usable and circulation areas amount to approx. 240 square metres. The container facility will have barrier-free access, with a car park directly next to the building and a corresponding WC in the building.
The roof of the building will be equipped with photovoltaic modules to ensure an effective self-supply of electricity.
The total costs amount to around 878,000 euros and will be financed entirely from the City of Chemnitz's own funds. The building should be completed by mid-2025.
