City council decides on next step in Chemnitz model
At its meeting today, the city council decided on preferable routes for stage 4 of the Chemnitz model. These will now be recommended to the Central Saxony Transport Association (VMS) for further in-depth planning.
This concludes the comparison of variants in the route analysis for stage 4 of the Chemnitz model between Bornaer Straße in Chemnitz and Limbach-Oberfrohna.
The variant via the Hartmannsdorf solar park was selected between the new bridge to be built over motorway 4 and the connection to the existing track to Limbach-Oberfrohna.
Between motorway 4 and Bornaer Straße, the two route variants via Bornaer Hang and via Leipziger Straße/Donauwörther Straße were recommended to VMS GmbH for further in-depth planning. In order to be able to make a final decision in favour of a preferable route, further traffic studies are required, which cannot be part of a route study.
