City council commissions administration to plan key construction projects for 2014

At its meeting yesterday, the city council passed the so-called decision in principle for the planning of civil engineering and building construction measures in 2014. This gives the administration the mandate to initiate planning for a number of construction measures in the following financial year and to include the necessary funds in the budget. This concerns both new projects and partial stages of projects that have already begun.

The decision in principle concerns the following construction projects:

Road construction

  • Chemnitz model, stage 2 (co-financing)
  • Continuation of Hofer Straße
  • Wilhelm-Busch-Straße, 2nd section

Bridge construction/hydraulic engineering

  • Stelzendorfer Straße culvert
  • Bridge Zschopauer Straße over DB AG BW 50.04
  • Bridge Georgstraße over the Chemnitz
  • Pipework Eubaer Bach in the area of the Chemnitzer Straße/Hauptstraße junction

Industrial estates

  • Planning the development of Uhlestraße

Measures of the urban planning office

  • SOPBrühl-Boulevard neighbourhood centre, design of traffic-calmed area between Elisenstrasse and Herrmannstrasse
  • SOP Brühl Boulevard Residential boulevard between Elisenstrasse and Zöllnerplatz and upgrading of platforms between the centre of the district and Georgstrasse
