City council approves plans for building construction measures
At its meeting yesterday, the city council approved 25 plans for building construction measures in the coming year.
Schools: The total volume of the two construction measures amounts to around 1.6 million euros.
- J.-A.-Comenius primary school: renovation of the roof and façade.
- Music school: Renovation of the façade in the courtyard area as well as draining the wing facing Gerichtsstrasse and adapting the outdoor area on which the extension building is to be constructed.
Day care centres: The total volume of the eleven construction measures amounts to 13.8 million euros.
- Michaelstraße 58 daycare centre: Interior renovation and renewal of the heating and electrical installations.
- Kita Hohe Straße 6b: Renovation of the sanitary facilities and the heating system must be completely renewed. Footpaths need to be repaired.
- Max-Türpe-Straße 40/42 daycare centre: Building renovation including roof, façade and windows. Renewal of the heating and ventilation systems.
- Daycare centre Am Harthwald 128: The outdoor area should meet child-friendly requirements and accident hazards must be eliminated.
- Kita Sonnenstraße 42: The building needs to be completely renovated and the exterior walls insulated. In addition, the interior areas need to be extended and the outdoor area needs to be renovated.
- Beethovenweg 44 daycare centre: Complete refurbishment of the building.
- Henriettenstraße 21 daycare centre: Renovation of the heating system, the electrical system and improvement of fire protection.
- Walter-Ranft-Straße 72/72a daycare centre: Complete refurbishment including roof, façade, fire protection measures and interior improvements.
- Fritz-Fritzsche-Straße 55/77 daycare centre: Building renovation including roof, façade and windows. Renewal of the heating and ventilation systems.
- Liddy-Ebersberger-Straße 2 daycare centre: Complete renovation with window replacement, roof renovation, renewal of the heating system and the electrical system as well as the installation of a ventilation system.
- Pappelstraße 14 daycare centre: installation of a decentralised ventilation system, renewal of the electrical installation and adaptation of the heating and sanitary distributions.
Chemnitz town hall
The roof of the New Town Hall is in need of renovation. The façade of the Old Town Hall needs to be renewed. The total costs amount to approx. 2.4 million euros.
Cycling track at the Sportforum
Due to weather-related damage in recent years, it is necessary to renovate the cycling track at the Sportforum. These renovations include The track wheel head must be renewed and the track surface repaired if necessary. This measure is part of the action plan for the Sportforum. The total costs amount to 900,000 euros.
Athletics/multi-purpose hall
The gravel roof over the functional areas needs to be renovated. The total costs for the construction work amount to 579,000 euros.
Main stadium in the Chemnitz sports forum
The main stadium is to be reconstructed as part of the action plan for the Chemnitz Sports Forum. This includes the demolition of the tower building, the renovation of the main stand and the trusses for approx. 3,000 visitors, the demolition of the remaining trusses, the uncovering of the arcades and the repair of the floodlight and sound system.
The total costs amount to 5,250,000 euros.
Indoor swimming pool on Südring
The indoor swimming pool, which opened 22 years ago, needs to be refurbished and the technical building equipment renewed. The total costs amount to approx. 1,250,00 euros.
Also included in the plans:
- Wasserschloss Klaffenbach - Bäder Hotel: Renovation to improve the structural conditions in the sanitary areas.
- Flemmingstrasse 97 children's and youth emergency service: renovation of the heating system and sanitary facilities. Accessibility elements must be installed.
- Sachsenhalle: Renovation of the sports floor.
- Schloßteichhalle: Renovation of the spectator stand.
- Clausstraße sports ground: new changing room and sanitary building.
- Helbersdorfer Straße technical centre: expansion and new construction.
- Albrecht-Köhler-Straße 91/93 day care centre: complete renovation.
