City council approves extension of heritable building right for Chemnitz Montessori association at Fürstenstraße 145 site

At its meeting yesterday, Chemnitz City Council approved the creation of a heritable building right in favour of the Montessori-Verein Chemnitz e. V. (Chemnitz Montessori Association). The council thus followed the proposal of the city's property management department to extend the Montessori Association's existing heritable building right over the school property at Fürstenstraße 147 to include the property at Fürstenstraße 145. The association's future overall heritable building right will be granted with the aim of extending and utilising the entire school property as a grammar school and secondary school.

The property on Fürstenstraße, the access road to the Yorck residential area, is located in the eastern part of Chemnitz (Gablenz district). The school complex at Fürstenstraße 145/147 was built in the mid-1970s as a prefabricated building. The refurbishment measures required today, as also stipulated in the resolution, are now to begin within one year of the heritable building right agreement being notarised and are to be completed after five years at the latest.

A binding financing concept to be submitted by the Montessori Association by 31 October 2013 is a prerequisite for the final notarisation of the leasehold contract.

On 30 May 2013, the general meeting of the Montessori-Verein Chemnitz e. V. approved the expansion of the school operations to include Fürstenstraße 145 for use as a grammar school as part of the creation of a comprehensive heritable building right. The facilities sponsored by the Montessori Association Chemnitz are the children's centre in Platnerstraße, the independent integrative primary school in Ernst-Enge-Straße and the independent integrative school (grammar school / secondary school) in Fürstenstraße 147 with the future extension at Fürstenstraße 145.
