City council approves building construction project
After-school care centre at Euba primary school gets its own rooms
At its meeting today, the city council approved the construction of the Euba primary school.
Almost 100 pupils are currently taught in four classes at Euba primary school. It is a single-form entry primary school. The current forecast from the sub-school network planning for primary schools - B-061/2015 for the number of pupils in Year 1 per school year shows that an average class size of 25 pupils will also be achieved for the coming school years.
The after-school care centre is also housed in the school building. The after-school care centre does not currently have separate rooms, but uses the dining room and classrooms. Around 90 per cent of pupils attend the after-school care centre, which is now to have its own rooms. The aim is to create rooms for the exclusive use of the after-school care centre.
It is also necessary to create a second structural escape route, as there is only one staircase in the school building.
The work is due to start in mid-August and will take twelve months. The total costs amount to around 1,000,000 euros.
