City council adopts new version of the green space statutes
At its meeting yesterday, the City Council adopted the new version of the green space statutes of the City of Chemnitz. This means that the statutes from 18 July 2012 no longer apply. The statutes cover all public green spaces that are landscaped, fulfil ecological, cultural and social functions and are open to the public. This includes parks, dog meadows, barbecue areas and playgrounds.
The list of public green spaces has been updated. This includes, among other things, the reallocation of fee categories and changes in property ownership. In addition to the site plan of the barbecue areas, the site plans of the dog meadows have also been added to the new statutes. The Hohe Straße/meadow area at the Richard-Hartmann-Halle is no longer a barbecue area, but is now only available as a dog meadow.
The ban on alcohol in inner-city green spaces, which was previously only regulated by a general decree, has been newly included. According to the green space regulations, the consumption of alcoholic beverages is therefore prohibited from Monday to Saturday between 9 am and 10 pm from April to October. It is also forbidden to be under the influence of alcohol during this time. Furthermore, no glass containers may be brought into these areas for the consumption of alcohol.
The new green space regulations come into force on the day after their public announcement.
