City council adopts new fee structure for adult education centre

At its meeting today, the City Council approved a new fee schedule for Chemnitz Adult Education Centre. The previous version from 2015 was revised and updated.

The new fee schedule for the adult education centre provides for a moderate increase in fees. The aim was to offer high-quality and at the same time socially acceptable teaching. This requires appropriate, fair average fees and staff costs that are adapted to the requirements. The new fee structure also takes into account the rising costs of building utilisation. Along with the teaching fee, the administration fee for all adult education centre courses and events will also increase from the current 5 to 7 euros.

The following examples show the specific impact of the new fee structure: The price for the "English Basic Course A1 Module a" will rise by nine per cent from 58.50 euros to 63.50 euros. The "Schritt für Schritt Computer-fit" course will be around five per cent more expensive at 126.60 euros instead of 120 euros.

The new version also provides for a 50 per cent discount for the severely disabled. Another new feature is that holders of the Saxon volunteer card will receive a 25 per cent discount if the course fee exceeds 10 euros.
