City council adopts new fee regulations for city library
At its meeting today, the City Council approved a new set of fees for the use of Chemnitz City Library, which will come into force on 1 March 2024. The future fee level will provide stability in the income to the city budget and continue to ensure equal opportunities for access to information and media.
The new fee statutes include an increase in the annual fee of 1.50 euros for the reduced fee, 3 euros for the regular fee and 2 euros with a subscription contract.
This means that the annual fee for adults with a subscription contract will cost 20 euros in future. The annual fee for 12 months without a subscription will be 23 euros. The family ticket will now cost 33 euros (previously 28 euros). Children and young people up to the age of 18 can continue to use the services of the city library free of charge in order to promote their reading and media skills.
There is also a slight increase in the combined annual fee for the City Library and the Museum of Natural History, which now costs 31 euros (previously 27 euros).
Pupils of full age, trainees and students up to the age of 27, federal volunteers (incl. FSJ and FÖJ), severely disabled persons with ID, holders of the Thank You Card or the Saxon Volunteer Card are now entitled to a combined ticket. holders of the Saxon Volunteer Card, holders of the Chemnitz Pass, members of the Association of Friends of Chemnitz City Library e. V. and volunteers employed by the City Library will pay 11.50 euros per year in future.
