City Council adopts key points of the expansion of public transport services
Yesterday, the city council decided on further key points of the service expansion of the local transport plan for the Chemnitz sub-region.
The following additional services beyond the 2017 service network were launched with the decision on the local transport plan in August:
- Extension of the daily service until 7 p.m. (from the 2017 timetable change)
- Introduction of a ring bus route every 20 minutes (from the 2017 timetable change)
Further measures are to be implemented in a second stage:
- Abolition of the special timetable during the summer holidays
- Establishment of a shuttle bus between the Grüna and districts
With the new local transport plan, the administration has also been authorised to make operational changes to the range of services in a volume of up to 10 percent of the service network. These services are to be implemented first - also in a second stage:
- Extension of the evening 20-minute frequency until 10.25 pm
- Improvement of the neighbourhood accessibility of line 53
- Improvement of the neighbourhood connection of line 42 to Keplerstraße
- Maintaining the 30-minute frequency to Euba
