City council adopts integrated action plan
At its meeting today, the city council approved the area-based integrated action plan (GIHK) for the funding of several ERDF and ESF areas in Chemnitz. This means that funding can now be applied for from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the European Social Fund (ESF) for the period up to 2027 in order to sustainably develop disadvantaged urban neighbourhoods.
Funding is to be applied for in the following areas Zwickauer Straße (ERDF), Altchemnitz (ERDF), Chemnitz Centre (ERDF and ESF) and Chemnitz South 2.0 (ESF).
Local stakeholders were involved in the creation of the GIHK. Applications are to be submitted for 33 mostly investment projects in the ERDF and 37 projects in the ESF in the areas of low-threshold child and youth education and social integration. Approximately 17.1 million euros in financial aid (with municipal co-financing of 4.5 million euros) is to be applied for in the ERDF by 2027. Under the ESF, it is planned to apply for a maximum of 7.5 million euros in funding by 2027, which would have to be co-financed with 1.1 million euros in municipal funds.
Implementation is subject to the provision of funding and subject to the available budget funds of the City of Chemnitz in the financial period up to 2027.
Changes within the projects are still possible at a later date until the respective project applications are submitted, but no further measures can be applied for funding that are not already part of the GIHK.
