City confirmed as client for new stadium on Gellertstrasse

The City of Chemnitz will be the client for the new stadium on Gellertstraße. This was confirmed by the city council at its meeting today.

The resolutions had become necessary after the state directorate rejected the municipal housing company GGG as the developer. Previous resolutions had to be partially cancelled due to the new constellation.

In addition, the loan earmarked for the stadium remodelling - planned at EUR 10 million in 2013 and EUR 15 million in 2014 - was included in the supplementary budget, which the city council also confirmed today.

Finally, the city council appointed the members of the jury that will oversee the award procedure. The following were elected:

- as administrative representatives:

Simone Kalew, Managing Director of GGG m.b.H.
Dr Mathias Hänel, Chairman of the Board of CFC e.V.
Prof. Dr sc. techn. Reinhard Erfurth, Managing Director of ERFURTH.PROJEKTDESIGN

Hans-Joachim Siegel, Die Linke parliamentary group
Detlef Müller, SPD parliamentary group
Dr Ullrich Müller, CDU parliamentary group
