City also wants to waive fees for outdoor catering in 2022

City Council decides on corresponding proposal in mid-December

The City of Chemnitz intends to waive special user fees for outdoor catering in 2022 as well. Mayor Sven Schulze will present a corresponding proposal to the City Council for a resolution at its next meeting on 15 December.

"The coronavirus pandemic is hitting retail and catering hard. But they are part of a vibrant and sustainable city. By once again waiving fees for outdoor catering, we as a city also want to send a signal that we are supporting the industry in difficult times and providing a perspective for the time of normality that we are all so longing for. I hope that the city council's decision will also give us planning security for the coming year. That is why I am calling for broad approval," says Lord Mayor Sven Schulze.

The fees for outdoor catering had already been waived by the city councillors in 2020 and 2021. This regulation expires on 31 December 2021.
