City administration focusses on e-mobility

Chemnitz City Council is further expanding the use of electromobility after an electric BMW i3 was added to the fleet as the first electric vehicle in November last year. Initial experiences have been consistently positive. As a result, two more electric vehicles are now being purchased.

Representatives of the media are invited to a press event on 23 August at 10 a.m. in the underground car park in the Bürgerhaus am Wall.
Charging stations are an inseparable component of the needs-based mobility concept. For this reason, the expansion of the car park infrastructure will be accompanied by an expansion of the charging stations. In the underground car parks Bürgerhaus am Wall and the New Technical Town Hall, appropriate electrical preparations for charging electric vehicles will be made.
In the New Technical Town Hall, a total of 13 parking spaces will be prepared for electric vehicle charging. It is planned that one electric vehicle will already be put into operation when the building is occupied. Four parking spaces will be created in the Bürgerhaus am Wall to enable four electric vehicles to be charged in the future.
