Citizens' Registration Office: Use the appointment service for citizens' enquiries at the registration office - make an appointment via the public authority number 115
The summer holiday and therefore travel season means that some people still need to visit the registration office in the Bürgerhaus am Wall to check their travel documents before setting off on their trip. The City of Chemnitz Citizens' Registration Office would like to take this opportunity to remind you of the possibility of booking an appointment in advance, e.g. to apply for a passport or children's passport. This allows citizens who would like to or have to visit the registration office to shorten their waiting time. Appointments can be made by telephone from Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. via the public authority telephone number 115.
Citizens can book an appointment in advance for the following services at the registration office:
- Registration of residence when moving to Chemnitz
- Change of residence within Chemnitz
- Applying for an identity card
- Applying for a passport
- Applying for a child's passport
- Application for certificate of good conduct
- Application for an extract from the central trade register.
Appointments are only available for the registration office in the Bürgerhaus am Wall, Düsseldorfer Platz 1, 09111 Chemnitz.
Appointments can be booked via 115 for the following times:
Monday and Friday: 8.30 am to 11.50 am
Tuesday and Thursday: 8.30 am to 11.30 am and 1.30 pm to 5.50 pm
Appointments are not available on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
To ensure that the employees of the registration office have sufficient time to process the respective citizen's matter, please state the specific services required when booking an appointment. Please keep the agreed appointments, as the appointment will be cancelled if you are late. If an agreed appointment is no longer required, please cancel in good time.
As far as visitor frequency is concerned, an average of between 350 and 450 calls from citizens were counted in the city's registration office on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the past weeks of June - that is significantly more than on consultation days outside the travel period.
Please note: When applying for an identity card, passport or children's passport, it is essential to present a marriage certificate or, if not married, a birth certificate. If no certificate can be presented, processing will not be possible.
