Citizens' forum on Zwickauer Strasse
On 29 August, 6 pm at the Tram Museum, Zwickauer Straße 164
The City Planning Office is organising a citizens' forum on the development of Zwickauer Straße on 29 August at 6 pm at the Tram Museum, Zwickauer Straße 164. In particular, all citizens of the Zwickauer Straße area and stakeholders and owners interested in its development are invited.
The citizens' forum will provide information and discuss the current status of planning, measures that are due to be implemented in the coming years and the opportunities and restrictions offered by the programmes. Afterwards, interested parties can take part in a guided tour of the Capital of Culture project "Garage Campus".
Zwickauer Straße between Kappler Drehe and Schönauer Kirche, between the railway line and Kappelbach, is a redevelopment area and one of the most important fields of action in Chemnitz's urban development. With the EU and federal state funding programmes ERDF and WEP, the city of Chemnitz has the opportunity to implement or initiate important projects. These include the park at the former manor in Schönau, the street and green design of Zwickauer Straße and the refurbishment of buildings.
The Citizens' Forum is organised by the City Planning Office in cooperation with the West, South and Central-West Citizens' Platforms and the redevelopment agency WGS.
