One part of the Europe-wide Cities4Europe campaign is the completion of postcards. Citizens have the opportunity to complete the sentence "My Europe in 2030 will..."/"My Europe in 2030 will..." and thus give the EU recommendations for action regarding a fairer and more sustainable society. The citizens' ideas will be presented at the EUROCITIES end-of-year meeting in Edinburgh at the end of November.

Anyone interested in filling in a postcard can do so online (http://cities4europe.eurocities.eu/eu-campaign/index.html#/postcard) or find them in town halls and various institutions, such as adult education centres and community centres, as well as at events on the topic of Europe. The completed postcards can either be sent directly to EUROCITIES or handed in at the city's EU office in the town hall.

The city of Chemnitz has been participating in the EUROCITIES "Cities4Europe" campaign since May 2018. The campaign has three goals:

  • Involve: Involve citizens in a conversation about the future
  • Inspire: Inspire all levels of government to create a society that puts citizens first
  • Impact: Influence the way decisions are perceived in Europe

In all participating cities, a series of actions will be carried out with the aim of promoting dialogue between citizens and politicians, linking politics, art and culture. So far, almost 100 cities are taking part in the campaign, which will be evaluated at the EUROCITIES annual meeting in Edinburgh at the end of November.
