Circus wagon as a mobile tuning room for daycare centre children
Handover on 30 November, 9.30 a.m., Carl-von-Ossietzky-Straße 190
On Thursday, 30 November at 9.30 a.m., the City of Chemnitz's Children and Youth Officer, Ute Spindler, will hand over a circus wagon to the groups at the two daycare centres "Rasselbande" and "Sonnenblume" at Carl-von Ossietzky Straße 190 in the presence of the City of Chemnitz's Youth Welfare Office. This is made possible by the federal programme "Future Package for Movement, Culture and Health", which promotes the participation and self-efficacy of young people.
Representatives of the media are cordially invited to attend.
The circus wagon is flexible, mobile and colourful and is intended to help children meet each other and adults. It will remain permanently in the garden of the two facilities. In the circus wagon, the children can, for example, discuss the future design of the garden or vote on play equipment, but it also serves as a place to stay and play. Following a decision by Chemnitz City Council at its most recent meeting, the outdoor facilities of both centres will be renovated.
Background
The children's ideas for their shared garden were realised back in August this year, when the fence that previously separated the gardens of the two houses was removed with a celebration. The shared use of the garden has since been extensively tested and approved - the rules for playing, building and running around together without a fence were set by the children themselves in an initial meeting.
The Future Package for Physical Activity, Culture and Health is a programme of the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth (BMFSFJ). It is implemented by the Gesellschaft für soziale Unternehmensberatung (gsub) and the SPI Foundation. The German Children and Youth Foundation (DKJS) is responsible for the "Child and Youth Participation in the Future Package" part of the programme.
