Christmas tree on the market is cut down
Date: Monday, 8 January, from 1 p.m. at the Chemnitz market
Next Monday, 8 January, the Christmas tree on Chemnitz market square will be cut down. From 1 p.m., employees from the City of Chemnitz's Parks Department will be "getting to grips" with the trunk using a large chainsaw.
After felling, the trunk will be stored and later used for repairs in the public green spaces. The greenery will benefit Chemnitz Zoo. It is mainly used for the enclosure design. It is mainly used for decoration and to keep the animals occupied. Some animals, such as camels and deer, also eat it.
