Christmas tree on the market is cut down
On Monday, 11 January, the Christmas tree on Chemnitz Market Square will be felled by employees of the City of Chemnitz Parks Department.
After felling, the trunk will be stored and later used for repairs in the public green spaces. The greenery will benefit Chemnitz Zoo. It is mainly used for the design of the enclosure, for decoration and to keep the animals occupied.
On this day, the dismantling of the Christmas decorations on the market (pyramid, music box, candle arch, large figures, lighting, etc.) and in the city centre also begins.
