Christmas tree is taken down
On 8 January around 1 pm - dismantling of the Christmas decorations begins in the morning
On Monday, 8 January, at around 1 p.m., employees of the City of Chemnitz Parks Department will remove the Christmas tree on Chemnitz Market Square. Due to the market fountain, it is no longer possible to cut down the tree in the traditional sense.
The dismantling of the Christmas decorations begins in the morning.
The greenery will be donated to Chemnitz Zoo. It is mainly used for the design of the enclosures, for decoration and to keep the animals occupied.
The dismantling of the Christmas decorations on the market and in the city centre also begins on this day. This includes the pyramid, music box, candle arch, large figures and festive lighting. This will take a few days.
