On Monday, 6 January, at around 1 p.m., employees of the City of Chemnitz Parks Department will remove the Christmas tree on Chemnitz Market Square. For safety reasons, among others, it is not possible to cut down the tree in the traditional sense. This will be realised with a heavy-duty crane.
The dismantling of the Christmas decorations, including the pyramid, figures and festive lighting, will begin in the morning and continue until 7 January.
The greenery will once again be donated to Chemnitz Zoo. It will mainly be used for the design of the enclosures, for decoration and to keep the animals entertained.
