This year, the Christmas market will continue after Christmas and in a larger area than last year. The "ChemnitzCity" initiative and the City of Chemnitz's business division are organising this together with other partners for the second time.
From Friday, 27 December to Sunday, 5 January, visitors are invited to enjoy the festive atmosphere on both Düsseldorfer Platz and Neumarkt. In addition to mulled wine stands and culinary delights, visitors can look forward to live acts and other programme items.
From Friday to Monday, 27 to 30 December, daily from 1 to 5 pm, the extended Christmas market will once again be enriched by the Coming Home Skilled Labour Exchange. This initiative aims to bring together companies from Chemnitz and potential returnees and interested parties in a relaxed, Christmassy environment and to promote dialogue. A total of 16 Chemnitz companies are involved and present job offers and information material in the Christmas pyramid on Düsseldorfer Platz.
The extension of the Christmas market and the integration of the skilled labour exchange underline the City of Chemnitz's commitment to both strengthening the regional economy and offering those wishing to return to Chemnitz an opportunity to do so.
