Christmas concert: Municipal music school invites you to its traditional concert in the town hall
Date: Sunday, 8 December, 4 p.m., Small Hall / Chemnitz Tuesday Singers on Tuesday, 3 December, 7:30 p.m., at St Matthew's Church
A musical way to get in the mood for Christmas: The Chemnitz Municipal Music School invites you to its traditional Christmas concert on the 2nd Sunday in Advent (8 December) at 4 pm in the Small Hall of the Stadthalle. This time, the concert's motto is "Animal Prayers". Young music students are involved in the programme, who will accompany the audience through a colourful and highly imaginative concert programme with endearingly humorous texts and, of course, lots of music and singing.
The performers at the Christmas concert include a small choir (including the well-known song "Lieb Nachtigall wach auf!"), a cello quintet, a brass quartet (including "Tochter Zion") and a solo performance on the piano with "Lerchengesang". The Christmas concert will also feature performances by girls and boys from the early music education programme, who will delight the audience with their interpretation of the famous reindeer "Rudolph", as well as the new recorder ensemble and the string band with their rendition of "A little piece of heaven".
This time, the Christmas concert will be presented by music students, who - you can be particularly excited! - perform as animals reciting poems.
The organisers are looking forward to welcoming many music lovers who want to join the pupils and teachers of the Chemnitz Municipal Music School to get in the mood for the Advent season. The concert is being organised with the kind support of Stadthalle Chemnitz GmbH.
Tickets at a price of ten euros per person - children up to the age of twelve pay eight euros each - can be purchased in advance from the ticket service.
