Großes Kinderfest auf der Küchwaldbühne

On Sunday, 7 June, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., all children big and small as well as adults are invited to the Küchwaldwiese. For the 19th time, clubs, organisations and institutions will be celebrating the children's festival under the motto: "We celebrate Children's Day internationally".

There is plenty for all children to experience on the festival day. The stage programme is a highlight. Over 300 children create a programme with singing, dancing and sporting performances. The children's choir from the municipal music school, the musical choir from the music school on Thomas-Mann-Platz, dance groups and the Chemnitz sports ensemble will be among the performers.

In order to safeguard the children's festival, visitors to the festival are asked to observe the one-way streets in the immediate vicinity of the festival meadow from 8 to 19. Specifically, Küchwaldring from Hechlerstraße to Küchwaldstraße, Küchwaldstraße from Küchwaldring to Salzstraße and Ludwigstraße from Küchwaldstraße to Hechlerstraße will be one-way streets.

Visitors to the children's festival travelling by car should note that there are limited parking facilities in the immediate vicinity. The car park on Leipziger Straße (landward) at Gottfried-Keller-Straße has a direct connection to Küchwaldring and should be used as a parking option.

The city centre car parks and public transport services (line 21 CVAG, line 254 Regionalverkehr Erzgebirge) are recommended.
