Children's conference 2023
Press invitation on 25 September, 1.30 p.m., City Council Chamber, City Hall
On Monday, 25 September, from 1.30 to 3.30 p.m., the City of Chemnitz's Children and Youth Officer, Ute Spindler, invites you to the Children's Conference 2023 in the City Council Chamber of the City Hall. The following topics will be discussed: "I'm making my schoolyard colourful!", "I'm working on the children's council or after-school council", "Cycling - My cycling and me", "School cleaning - all rubbish or what?" and "What I've always wanted to tell Chemnitz".
Representatives of the media are cordially invited to attend.
The conference will be supported by municipal institutions, pupils from primary and special schools and independent socio-cultural initiatives, associations, the UNICEF working group and the coordinator for child and youth participation at the City of Chemnitz, Katrin Günther.
Every year, around 80 Chemnitz primary school pupils spend an afternoon learning about everyday democratic life in the town hall. This year, the Chemnitz University of Technology's "Raderfahren" project and the German Parity Welfare Association (Landesverband Sachsen e. V. Regional Office Chemnitz) are represented with children's wishes. The association prepares a contribution with children on World Children's Day and brings it to the conference. In various discussion rounds, the children learn to argue and discuss with each other.
