Children's book presentation for Mobility Week
On Wednesday, 18 September 2019, the inclusive children's book "Ein König fährt Bus" by Chemnitz author Effi Winkler will be presented together with children on the stage on the ground floor of the TIETZ. The presentations will take place at 9.15 am and 10 am. Admission is free.
The book tells short stories, for example how girls and boys encounter people with disabilities in their environment and how these people cope with their everyday lives as a matter of course. The children learn about aids such as wheelchairs, canes and sign language in an endearingly unselfconscious way. It's all about mutual consideration, whether with or without a disability. Everyday situations are portrayed in a playful and humorous way, inviting readers to smile and reflect.
At the event, the author will read from the book and children from the "Flemmingstraße" day care centre will create little scenes to go with it. Children aged 5 and over, parents, grandparents and daycare centre groups are particularly invited.
The event is being organised as part of European Mobility Week. Groups of 8 people or more are requested to register.
