Children's Art Open Air on 11 June on Theaterplatz
On Tuesday, 11 June, from 9 a.m. to 10.30 a.m., many little artists will once again be creating great art on Theaterplatz.
200 children from municipal day-care centres in the city of Chemnitz will each creatively and artistically design one square metre of space. Once again, a total work of art of 200 square metres will be created under the open sky and become an eye-catcher for many Chemnitz residents and visitors to the city.
This campaign, organised in cooperation between the Department of Child Day Care Centres and Child Day Care of the Office for Youth and Family and the Chemnitz Art Collections, premiered in 2017. Since then, this event has been an annual highlight for boys and girls aged four to six.
Once again this year, the daycare centre children visited the Museum am Theaterplatz with the aim of getting to know the diverse painting of the Romantic period first-hand.
The young artists then transform these artistic impressions of the great painters with joy, a lot of imagination and special street chalk on their available theatre square area.
All interested parties are once again cordially invited to view the many small works and the large overall work of art. Representatives of the media are also cordially invited to follow the art event.
