Children present their views on child protection

Children and youth representatives: Invitation - on 20 March, 9.30 am, at the town hall

On Wednesday, 20 March, 9.30 a.m., the children of the day care centres "Die bunten Knöpfchen", "mezzopiano", "Abenteuerland" and "Zwergenland", together with the City of Chemnitz's Children and Youth Officer, Ute Spindler, invite you to the tactile model in front of the town hall for a campaign on the topic of child protection. Children's ideas from the federal Future Package programme were put into practice. Among other things, the children explored questions such as "My body belongs to me!" and "Why is it good to listen to your gut?".

Representatives of the media were also invited.

Together with their day carers, the children picked up paintbrushes and pens and designed the packaging for Fairtrade chocolate. With the painted packaging, they draw attention to the protection of children and give the chocolate away to citizens of the city of Chemnitz at the market. They are supported with materials from the child protection programme of the Weißer Ring e. V. federal office and the children's rights guide from the League of Independent Welfare Services in Saxony.

Various communication platforms on the topic of child protection were created from the federal programme "Future Package for Culture, Physical Activity and Health". In December 2023, the daycare centres in Gablenz started a joint discussion round on the topic of child protection in daycare with Ute Spindler, the City of Chemnitz's Children and Youth Officer. Now the children's ideas are being given a platform.
