Children discover Chemnitz
Primary and secondary school pupils visit Mayor Barbara Ludwig in the town hall
On Monday, 2 July at 10 a.m., Lord Mayor Barbara Ludwig will welcome pupils from some of Chemnitz's primary and secondary schools to the town hall.
She will give them an insight into her everyday life, the children can ask questions and will be given a tour of the town hall by the Lord Mayor.
Representatives of the media are cordially invited.
Pupils from Years 3 to 4 at Heinrich-Heine-GS, Annenschule GS, Charles-Darwin-GS, Valentina-Tereschkowa-GS and Obere Luisen GS as well as Year 5 at Albert-Schweizer-OS will be taking part. Ute Spindler, the City of Chemnitz's Children and Youth Officer, would like to offer them the opportunity to explore the city together with her through the "Discover Chemnitz" project.
In the project, the children will explore the city together, experience leisure activities around the city centre and the Küchwald forest as well as free accommodation and meals at the Chemnitz school hostel. The Children's Fund has been supporting children in difficult life situations since 2004. Education is the key to every child's future. The Children's and Family Fund supports and sponsors this event for the participating schoolchildren, enabling them to enjoy a special kind of short holiday.
