Children can talk about their ideas

First children's consultation: 27 February, 9.30 a.m., Rappelkiste daycare centre

On Monday, 27 February, from 9.30 a.m., Ute Spindler, the City of Chemnitz's Children and Youth Officer, will hold her first children's consultation hour at the "Rappelkiste" daycare centre, Auerswalder Straße 119. She will then find out about the ideas that children in Chemnitz have for their city.

Representatives of the media are invited to attend.

The background to this is the arts and crafts campaign "Colourful hustle and bustle on the fences of day-care centres", which was called for by the Local Alliance for Families in Chemnitz. The campaign is intended to set an example for a family-friendly and peaceful Chemnitz. Chemnitz residents can admire numerous works by young artists on the fences of various facilities in the city, such as the "Rappelkiste" daycare centre. This future gallery has now been further developed with the UNICEF Chemnitz working group and the partners of the Local Alliances for Families.

"Together with the co-operation partners of the Local Alliance for Families in Chemnitz, the Workers' Welfare Association, the City Sports Association, the Chamber of Industry and Crafts, the Technical University of Chemnitz through the Family Service, the solart through the Family Service, solaris GmbH as the 'Prevention for a family-friendly Chemnitz' network, we want to champion the diverse ideas of the children," says Ute Spindler. "All wishes should become visible." In addition to building instructions for an insect hotel, various flower seeds will ensure that children can be introduced to the contribution to the protection of wild bees in a playful way in the coming warmer months.
