Children bring shop windows to life

On Children's Day tomorrow, 1 June, from 9.30 a.m. to around 10.30 a.m., the children of the Filou daycare centre, together with their mascot fox Filou, will open their self-designed shop window at Frankenberger Straße 77. The idea to decorate the previously empty shop window was inspired by the book "Der kleine traurige Marienkäfer" (The Little Sad Ladybird), which the children of the Filou daycare centre developed themselves. The children's pictures, the book and a story about it will be presented in the shop window from tomorrow. With the participation of the children, educational content from the daycare centre's everyday life will now be shown to the public in the district.

Background: Last year, the children at the Filou day care centre at Ludwig-Richter-Straße 27 presented their first self-illustrated children's cardboard book "The sad little ladybird". With a lot of joy, diligence and creative ideas, they designed book page after book page. They received professional support from the illustrator of the Chemnitz Wimmelbuch, Stephanie Brittnacher.
